Subject: What’s beyond my water bill? The environmental impacts of the drinking water system in Israel - Implications for adopting life cycle thinking

Abstract: In this talk we will discuss the environmental impacts associated with the provision of tap water in Israel. We will first review the notion of life cycle thinking related to products and services with emphasis on water consumption and its associated impacts.
We will then present the life cycle assessment (LCA) results of the Israeli water supply system for years 2012 and 2015 in order to evaluate and understand the sources of the largest impacts in the system and derive conclusions related to countries and regions with similar climate using similar water production technologies. We will also discuss what else can be done with such data and how we can further evaluate the larger consequences for industry and households in Israel.

The online meeting will be held on:  Sunday,May 22nd  , 2022 at 13:15.
